Interesting to think about metaphors.

After priming GPT-3 davinci with a bunch of metaphors like "She was fishing for compliments" and "The cold air pierced his skin", it came up with this one: "Time wears away at the stone of our lives."

I googled it and it appears to be new.

Then I used davinci-instruct and asked it to explain this metaphor.

The output:

"The metaphor is just a way of saying that time, like water, is relentless and will eventually wear away everything that is in its path."

No bad I say...
